Talis and Friends
From Ultrafractal Wiki
Talis and Friends is a Fractal Formula in tma2.ufm
Hi Kim,
I think Ed has hit the proverbial nail on the head. I also go a lot of results that I liked from Talis in FE, which is why I decided to try to port it over to UF, and--truth be told--I have gotten quite a few good ones from the formula in UF, but neither result resembles the other.
You will notice that the shape of the M set is the same in both programs, but things rapidly diverge from there. The function "Global Z Func" (in the "Initial Section") is analogous to the sole function in FE, and "2nd Z Offset" is analogous to P1 in FE.
Knowing that, you might be able to plug in the numbers from your FE images and see something that has a family resemblance in terms of structure, but be aware that much of what you do see in FE is predicated on the way the coloring is processed, and be further aware that (I believe) the two programs handle certain calculations differently, so I don't know how much luck you will ultimately have.
I know that I have never been able to reproduce any of my FE results in UF with any success, and vice-versa.
HTH,
Toby
