Stars on Formulas

From Ultrafractal Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

The (default) stars on a formula author's individual formulas can be set by the formula author by using the "rating=" option in the default section of the formula but can be overridden by the user as you point out.

The stars on the formula collections (uxf, ufm, ucl and ulb) are controlled by the "Ratings.txt" file from the formula database but again can be overridden by the user.

The standard.* group of formulas was created to give users a foundation of good, useful formulas. You could spend your fractal life there and not exhaust the possibilities. Alternatively, you can use the ratings feature to highlight formulas that you like. Then, if you list the formulas by ratings, your favorites will show up on top, so you needn't be bothered with the others.
