Among the plugins I have written the following can be considered to be slow because they run mulitiple times at each iteration at each pixel position:

All convolution filters. These include

  • Average Blur Filter
  • Edge Detect Filter
  • Emboss Filter
  • Quick High Pass Filter
  • Quick Low Pass Filter

The following plugins also have built-in convolution options which can be chosen by the user:

  • The texture trap shape Gnarl Textures
  • The texture trap shape Modified Perlin Textures
  • The texture trap shape Monnier's S.F.B.M. II Textures
  • The texture trap shape Worley Textures

The following trap shapes, which are primarily intended to use as textures, run multiple times for each iteration at each pixel position:

  • The texture trap shape Gnarl Textures
  • The texture trap shape Modified Perlin Textures
  • The texture trap shape Monnier's S.F.B.M. II Textures
  • The texture trap shape Worley Textures
  • The texture trap shape Toby's Geometrix Texture

The following trap shapes, which are based upon strange attractors, run mulitiple times for each iteration at each pixel position:

  • Chip
  • Chip2
  • CosMartin
  • Cosmartin2
  • Gingerbread
  • Henon
  • Henon2
  • Hopalong
  • Hopalong2
  • Latoocarfian
  • Pickover
  • Quadruptwo
  • Sierpinski
  • Sprott3D
  • Sprott3D_ODE
  • SprottQuad
  • Threeply
  • Zito

The following additional trap shapes run multiple times for each iteration at each pixel position:

  • 4D Orbit
  • Ikenaga

The following additional plugins run multiple times for each iteration at each pixel position:

  • Gnarl Coloring
  • Modified Perlin Colors
  • Monnier's SFBM II Coloring Texture. This also has a convolution option
  • Worley Colors
