Object Formulas

Object Formulas is a Fractal Formula wrapper in reb5.ufm.

Object Formulas is a wrapper ufm similar to Generic Formula in Standard.ufm in that it "wraps" around any of the standard class formulas in standard.ulb and many other libraries. What has been changed in Object Formulas is that it has a dramatically expanded set of options that allow the use two fractal formulas and two transforms, which can be blended in various ways.

The approach is substantially different from Jim's use of transform/contraction pieces. In some cases it can give very similar results, but it can also produce some very different effects.

A checkbox named 'Use dual formulas' turns on all the dual formula capabilities.

The cascade of formulas has the following options:

For each cascade set there are additional options. They can be combined in Sequence' For the default each transform and formula is processed in order for each iteration. They also can be combined 'By iter value'. With this method for every set of iterations defined by the iteration cycle' parameter formula1 and transform1 will be iterated for part of the cycle, and formula2 with transform2 for the second part. The iteration cycle is partitioned into the number of iterations defined by the 'Formula 1 Iters' parameter, with the remainder going to formula2.

There is also a 'Merge' method. In this method formula1 and its transform is iterated separately from formula2 and its transform. At the end of each iteration the complex numbers from the two formulas are merged. There are a number of merge methods, such as addition, multiplication, largest and smallest.
