Matting and Framing
From Ultrafractal Wiki
Matting and Framing is a Coloring Algorithm in rkb.ucl.
The Matting and Framing formula itself is part of the public database.
Primary strengths:
- Ability to color outer frame, inner frame, gridlines, andcells independently. Each component can be colored from the gradient, set to a single color from the gradient, or set to 'Solid' color.
- Ability to merge cells to create irregularly shaped regions. Merged cells handle gradient shading, making 3-D-like latticework framing possible.
- Rich variety of possible cell shading with some ability to vary the type of shading for different cells on the same layer.
- Ability to 'Unify' cells to create single fills out of groups of cells.
Ramp-up on 'Advanced' and 'Expert' mode is steep, so I highly recommend downloading and studying the support material available here: [1]
The download contains a 20+ page help file (pdf format) and dozens of examples and templates...most of which are in the public domain.
