Matting and Framing

Matting and Framing is a Coloring Algorithm in rkb.ucl.

The Matting and Framing formula itself is part of the public database.

Primary strengths:

Ability to color outer frame, inner frame, gridlines, andcells independently. Each component can be colored from the gradient, set to a single color from the gradient, or set to 'Solid' color.
Ability to merge cells to create irregularly shaped regions. Merged cells handle gradient shading, making 3-D-like latticework framing possible.
Rich variety of possible cell shading with some ability to vary the type of shading for different cells on the same layer.
Ability to 'Unify' cells to create single fills out of groups of cells.
