Image File Organization

All,

A very simple solution is to organize your images folder into a hierarchy. Say, for example, images are included in parameters posted to the list. Some people give permission for them to be used, and others don't. Plus, you have images you have collected for your own use. You can organize your images folder something like this,

images
images\mine
images\list_images_ok_to_use
images\list_images_not_ok

When you save an image included with parameters, save it to the appropriate folder given the comments by the poster. When you paste the parameters, UF should automatically find the image. If it doesn't, just browse to the correct folder and select it. I did a test with parameters where the image was expected to be in images. I moved the image to a subfolder and opened the parameters. UF found the image just fine.

Other suggestions are good too. Post a low resolution image to that is good enough to show your image at a small size, but would be pixelated when generated at a larger size. A file sharing site might be useful. If you post parameters using an image, it is a good idea to put in the comments of the parameters whether or not people are free to use the image in their own parameters.

In any case, it is best to make sure you have the permission to use the image before posting parameters using the image to the list. This is true whether the image was previously posted, or is one you found somewhere and are using it in your parameters.
