Convert Image to Gradient

"I was wondering if there was a way to convert an image into a colorfile for UF..."

As far as I could see there isn't a way inside UF. I found a way with the help of Apophysis. It also uses *.ugr files as colorfiles.

Open Apo and the gradient editor. Click on the little yellowish square , on the bottom right. A window opens. Select an image. The colorpalette is being made by Apo. (in the main window, on the bottom left you can follow the progress.) Click on the copy symbol, on the bottom.

Open UF (if not opened already). Open an image and the Gradient editor. Rightclick in the Gradient editor on paste.

Save the colorfile in UF if you like it.

Is there a way inside UF ? If not: it's on my wishlist  :-)
