I have 5 formulas that can use the Colors plug-in. They are:

1. Lighting with Textures Direct
2. Exponential Smoothing
3. Fibers and Things
4. Image Traps
5. Plane and Sphere Raytracing

These are all direct coloring algorithms which means that colors can be manipulated directly in the code. We will be covering the Colors plug-in in Image Traps when we get to Challenge #8. This is where we will cover image import. Plane and Sphere Raytracing is very specialized, so I doubt we will get to a challenge using that formula unless the is a strong desire on the list to do so. At some point I will post some uprs that use Plane and Sphere Raytracing.

Lighting with Textures Direct we are working with now in Challenge #6. The Colors plug-in for Lighting with Textures Direct, Exponential Smoothing and Fibers and Things behave very similarly, and in all cases are a bit tricky. You should all feel free to experiment, as long as you use Colors PlugIns from reb.ulb, as most other Colors PlugIns won't work well with these formulas, and in fact, may give no effects at all. I am still developing tools for the Colors plug-ins to make them easier to use, and I will let the list know when I upload them to the database. At some point I will put together a tutorial on the use of Colors plug-ins for these three formulas.
