Add a Signature
From Ultrafractal Wiki
Mark,
As others have pointed out, there are several ways to add a signature to a UF image.
1. mjd.ucl's Initials formula.
+ Fairly simple and quick. + Renders any size. + Free. - Limited to four characters. - Only one font choice.
2. Import an image.
+ Complete control over fonts, colors, spacing. + As much text as you want. + Can be a logo, photo, or scanned signature rather than just text. + Speed not dependent on number of characters used. + Free (assuming you've upgraded to UF5). - Imported image can be pixellated on large renders, unless the imported image is very high-resolution.
3. Import via glyph.
+ Any installed font can be used. + Renders any size. + Can be any amount of text (although the more text, the slower the render will be). + Works with UF4. - Hard to mix & match font styles. - Cumbersome to change colors (each letter has its own color). - Can't currently use glyph outlines as objects. - The author asks for a donation (so not technically "free").
I wrote glyph because I wanted to see if I could code a TrueType renderer in UF's formula language, and because I wanted to be able to import arbitrary text as curve data. Cliff has used glyph quite a bit for various pieces.
